Mindfully Managing Pain Program
Is chronic or persistent pain lowering your mood and stopping you doing the things you love?
Living with chronic pain is exhausting. But here is the liberating truth: While pain nearly always has many causes, it's ultimately your brain that decides whether to create pain or not.

This does not mean that your pain is not real or is all in your head! It means that your danger alarm system, which is there to protect you, has most likely become over sensitised and is stuck in the "on" position.

Even after tissues have healed (which generally happens within 3-6 months), a hypersensitised pain system can keep generating pain when it is no longer required.

The good news is that your brain and body can be retrained to overcome persistent pain.

The Mindfully Managing Pain Program is designed to help you recalibrate that alarm, helping you dial down pain frequency and intensity, improve mood and get you back to doing what you love.
A science-backed path to pain relief
This 8-session journey combines:
-
World leading pain neuroscience: from the "Explain Pain" framework by Professor Lorimer Moseley AO and Associate Professor David Butler
-
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy): a highly effective therapy that helps people to stay present, manage discomfort and do what matters, based on their values.
-
Mindfulness Based Pain Relief: Evidence-based techniques to dial down pain from the Integrative Pain Science Institute's Mindfulness-Based Pain Relief Program.

"I have been suffering with neck and lower back pain for over 10 years and this was affecting my relationships, work life, hobbies and especially my mental health.
I highly recommend this course to anyone who lives with chronic pain. It is amazing the difference it has made and I can honestly say I am feeling the joy of life once again."

"I wasn’t sure what to expect from this course but I can only say that any expectations I had were exceeded by miles! This program helped me in so many ways. While there is no silver bullet, the knowledge and the tools provided have helped me to significantly reduce the pain I experience and change how I think and feel about pain. I can't recommend this program highly enough!"
- C.S., Newcastle, NSW
"I had back surgery 4 years ago yet still had chronic pain. I found the program to be extremely professional, research-based, action-orientated, practical and most importantly, effective. Through getting to 'know' pain better, I was more aware and able to use mindfulness techniques to re-train my brain to manage pain differently. In just 8 weeks, I was brave enough to enrol in a Zumba class for the first time ever!"
